Every Network Gets Extreme Weather Story Right, ‘Now’s The Time We Start Limiting Manmade Greenhouse Gases’ — ABC

I have been critical of the media for ignoring the link between man-made global warming and the off-the-charts extreme weather we have been seeing. And many have documented how they have been downplaying the story of the century in the last couple of years.
But the extreme weather has been so unprecedented — and NOAA and leading climate scientists have been so blunt — that we have the unprecedented situation of the evening news shows last night on ABC, CBS, and NBC (and PBS) all talking about the link between greenhouse gases and the stunning heat wave. All the videos are posted below (with some of the best excerpts).

And then there's HAARP - I have heard this little electrical nugget in Alaska (and many other countries, too) has the capability of bending jet streams. Think about that. Moving those bodies of astral water so that maybe Africa DOES NOT get water until...or perhaps FLOODS to mix things up a bit. What in the world do we need all that current shot into the ionosphere for anyway?

With ENERGY being the MAIN ingredient in campaigns today - I hardly feel the downside of it will get ANY mention. There will be an uptick in mountain top removal in the virginias, MORE fracking than ever, wind turbines in your backyard smacking migratory birds into your windows, increase in coal usage - hey whats wrong with coal? Now that nuclear is just too frightening because of Fukushima (Which yes, I feel was a HAARP event to get something from Japan) - the gloves are off "screw the globe" is their new motto. imo. And MORE BIGGER AND BETTER SUVs, v-8 TRUCKS, carrying one person to their destination. We are America. Don't you dare take our right to use more than our share away.

Can't we just drill in the Poles? We really don't need the animals there (I actually heard someone say this. She also said we need to remain "competitive, but thanks to the insane environmentalists, this won't be possible. I wanted to smack her, but she had hot wax hovering over my legs...so I just closed my eyes and said a prayer)

I so wish that I did not have to share the planet with such ignorant, uncaring people. We need animals. We don't need people like her. Too bad you couldn't have sneezed and kicked the hot wax onto her head.

That egocentric viewpoint is a huge part of the problem. We are the dominant species, the earth and everything on it was made to serve us, things are measured by what we "need." And competitive? What are we competing with? Yard sales? All our industry has now moved offshore. Not only that, it's centralized in one country. Indonesia makes capacitors, Malaysia makes hard drives, Taiwan makes airplane rivets...I'm making up the data but the concept is accurate. All our industrial and technological eggs have been put in single baskets. Last Christmas there was extensive flooding in Bangkok, just when I was shopping for an external disk drive to back up computer files. Prices shot up immediately after I got my WD Elements because Thai factories were under water. Given the coming severe weather events, we desperately need to diversity and localize production...but there is no leadership, no political will.
