I'm posting this here because I'm irate. Mike Adams (of Natural News) has written an entire diatribe stating this is nothing more than a covert attempt for another vaccine, that the research was funded by big pharma etc. I don't know how to counter this except to comment like I did at the bottom of the article although I'll probably get banned for what I wrote. The researchers never said causality, the media jumped to that conclusion. Anyway, here's what I posted:
The researchers themselves have said over and over this association does NOT mean causality. The researchers don't have ties to big pharm. They were turned down for funding and went out on their own. Only when the possibility of this virus being present was strongly shown did NCI step in. This article correctly berates the media for false conclusions but is very unfair to the pioneers working to solve the CFS mystery. So, while big pharm may eventually step in with a vaccine, that is not the intent of the original researchers. There are still good people out there! So, Mike, ban me if you will but you are doing a great disservice to those of us with CFIDS by diatribes such as this!
