In the thread on Purity, Dizzy and a a few began a discussion on quality of life and the digital world.
The more and more I read, the more concerned I become...

I feel better when away from the stuff.
Going into an electronics store gives me migraines in about 15 minutes.
Holding a cell phone to my ear gives me a headache.
Took out the wireless router on my computer and felt MUCH better.
I got a Q-LInk pendant (personal bio-shield) and felt better doing computer, etc. I forgot, left it off a couple a days and couldn't understand why I felt so bad. My cat dumped it at my feet, gave me a dirty look (stoopid human) and I put it back on and felt better.
This happened several times-if it is a placebo effect I really don't give a rip. The freaking headaches are gone.

Uuugh I can't handle my cell phone near my head. Whenever I use it it's straight to speaker phone, or else I'll call them back when I can get somewhere to use the speaker phone. My head burns when I use it otherwise!

I have a cordless phone that we rarely use. Last week I received a call and had to go to another room to search for some documents...so I took the stooopid thing...I had been on the phone for 30 minutes and the darn thing started heating up!!
I am getting rid of it.
Soooo, anyone have any thoughts on this....You know the whole anti-smoking unless in designated areas issue? If cigarette smoke is considered an infringement on other's right to breathe fresh air...
...then can anyone explain to me why all these electronic technical devices along with their signals and emissions are not considered exactly the same?
Curious to hear what everyone has to debate...

I agree with you Emma. We refuse to have anything that transmits wirelessly in the house. Also we keep all power points turned off at the wall if an appliance is not being used.
One thing that would concern me if we were living in town is the potential danger from the wireless signals of neighbour's appliances such as cordless phones and Wi Fi. My husband was helping a friend set up his Wi Fi system in their new apartment in the middle of an appartment block a while ago. In the process he detected over twenty Wi Fi systems. They are living amongst all those signals. For me this is a big turn off for living in such an apartment block.

I agree, and it does worry me. Can you just imagine all the 'nutcase' reactions you'd get if you asked someone to not fry you with their cellphone in a public place though?!

Oh YEH! People would look at ya like you were let loose from the care of mental health workers!!
Mercola has just posted something on cellphone emissions...So when Dr. M is worried, and trying to get the word out...then you know it is something that we need to pass on information to the uninformed...
Take a look...he is selling an emission reducer. Still....I think it's a start. I think it isn't a reducer we need...it's a change in philosophy! It would require a 'back to basics' approach to thinking about communication.
Eating well, taking care of yourself, and doing all these good things will mean nothing if people continue to stress themselves by constantly 'needing' to be addicted to being 'plugged in" don't you think?.....

Mercola has been riding this horse for a year, give or take. It's not new.

Yes, I was pretty sure I had seen this before in his articles. Thanks for the reminder, Islander!
Funny, a friend phoned me yesterday to tell me that Oprah had done a show yesterday on 'unplugging' from electronic addictions and reducing energy consumption. The basic premise of the show was to take two families who were majorly addicted, and give them a list of what they had to do for a week. Well, the kids went through what can only be described as serious withdrawl....really sad to watch.
Each child was spending about 5 hours on computer games each day, and watching TV during the rest. Lights and running taps were constantly left on, and this family ate out about 3 or more X a week! (Who can afford that????) Each member of this family had their own TV in their rooms!
They used bottled water that often was left half full, and the littlest boy nearly had a major meltdown because his mother insisted he eat food leftover from lunch...! The youngest girl nearly went into a major depression because her mother insisted she use the schoolbus rather than have her start up the car and drive her to school....!
It was something to watch...and I know it's going on all over the world.
It has made me revisit my own energy consumption and re-address many issues in my own life....
