Well, I just found out that pear nectar water kefir packs a major punch even doing my usual to keep alcohol content down, lol. Tastes good though. I hate wine, maybe I can get the benefits this way:p Already know watermelon will become very alcoholic.

I honestly don't even know what Brandy is nor do I think I've ever had it, lol. It is yummy but, I consumed maybe 8 ounces, got very flushed and fuzzy headed and dizzy. So it is now on the counter uncapped to let the alcohol evaporate. It really does taste good though.

Honey, how old are you? An aunt of mine got me started on coffee brandy after dinner...so civilized. Allen's Coffee Brandy is the best-selling liquor in the state of Maine. Weird, huh? And blackberry brandy is the best for soothing stomach cramps.
Anyway, you may have an alcoholic beverage there but you don't have brandy. That needs a distiller, and though I know your kitchen looks like a lab, I know you are not distilling your pear kefir!

ROFL :) Nope, not into distilling anything but water at this point. I will be 57 in April. Coffee brandy sounds quite good actually :) Is it gluten free and sulfite free and everything else free? Definitely have alcoholic beverage. Water kefir can get up to 4% alcohol. I think, considering how much alcohol and how much yeast residue at bottom of jar that my water kefir grains have too much yeast. Fairly easily rectified. Yeast gives the CO2 which makes it fizzy like soda, but also is what produces the ETOH. Gotta find a compromise!
Brandy is one of the few ETOH drinks i can manage.
I just recently realized that my "Sunday Headaches" (migraine) were from the Manischewitz - all of about 1/2 a tablespoon - communion wine. The following week i checked, and sure enough it has sulfites.
The blackberry brandy my ILs have does not have sulfites, but since i'm not used to ETOH, it knocks me on my rear!

By the Great Googly-Moogly, somebody better tell me soon what ETOH means. I'm usually good at figuring out msg board shortcuts, but this one has me stumped!

ETOH is a medical abbreviation for ethyl alcohol.

Alcohol.
Ethanol is often abbreviated as EtOH, using the common organic chemistry notation of representing the ethyl group (C2H5) with Et. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol).
Sorry, guess i worked psych/detox too long. We always abbreviated it that way in charts.

Blackberry brandy? I've never heard of it, but it sounds soooo good!
Uh, this was supposed to go under Islander's post mentioning said brandy, but I sometimes I can't figure out how to get it to do that. Or can it even do that at all?

You then edit out any irrelevant part of the quote, as I did with the first part of your comment about Blackberry brandy, making sure you leave the quote commands intact, then type your post underneath and it should show as mine is now.
