in LOW-CARB DIETS
Real men don’t eat carbs. At least they don’t eat them without eventually paying the price.

How do carbohydrates, especially those contained in “healthy whole grains,” impair maleness? Several ways:

–Consume carbohydrates, especially the exceptional glucose-increasing amylopectin A from wheat, and visceral fat grows. Visceral fat increases estrogen levels; estrogen, in effect, opposes the masculinizing effects of testosterone. Overweight males typically have low testosterone and high estrogen, a cause for depression, emotionality, weight gain, and low libido.

This article would seem to confirm the truism that we change as we grow older, and our bodies' needs must change, as well. If a person ate and ideal diet, along with ideal exercise patterns, when younger, that person's requirements when older will be quite different from the requirements of those of us who led a less than ideal life in our youth.

Particularly, I enjoyed the comment about "discovering puberty" in young men, who will double their testosterone, almost with no regard to good or poor diet. Researchers, and those who read the research, must be very careful as to the conclusions drawn, when many variables are conflated, and conclusion seems to drive the observations. LOL
