Dr. Mercola, the top-ranked health blogger, just posted a great piece (http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/09/21/can-eating-this-sweet-treat-decrease-risk-of-the-1-cause-of-death.aspx?e_cid=20110921_DNL_art_1) about dark chocolate and health. (Long time readers will note that I linked back to Mercola.com because that’s what happy healthy bloggers do (http://www.bulletproofexec.com/its-official-dr-mercola-just-copied-the-bulletproof-diet/)…) But Dr. Mercola’s generally on-target advice is missing a key piece of information this time. Read on to learn more.
I’m a big fan of chocolate’s health effects , and blogged about it here (http://www.bulletproofexec.com/why-to-choose-chocolate-over-a-power-bar/)a while back. But Dr. Mercola writes about a new meta-analysis (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21875885) from Cambridge University’s Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit, which evaluated 4,576 studies of chocolate involving 114,009 people, which determined:

Dang, with my sensitivity to mold/mold toxins, now I have to wonder about the organic cocoa powder I use. I don't use it every day anymore but... Honestly, sometimes I wish I didn't learn certain things, lol. I've never ever seen 99% dark cacao here, 90% is nearly impossible to find but I might look for it and use a little grated into smoothies instead of the cocoa powder. I am going to start using the powder daily and keep a diary and muscle test for it too. There is a limit to what I can do though!
