Islander, as Emma Peel has fessed up, it was not I who notified you about the Mercola "demotion". The last several Mercola newsletters / fora have passed me by completely. Actually, due to trying to catch up at work, I have not been home for more than an overnight at a time for many weeks. When pressed for time, we must make choices, and I have found that this was one that I could live without, for the time being. As to the sameness of the wackadoodle postings, I think that this is just a not too subtle form of group think, just the mirror image of the "sheeple" thinking that is much decried. Sort of the "I'm further out in my thinking than you are" that speaks volumes about the maturity level of some of the tin foil hat folks who seem to have the need to one up each other at every opportunity. So here we are, and all the happier for being here, not to mention better informed. Thank you to all who scour the internet and other sources for all of this cool stuff.

That was very well said Maurya. I found that I couldn't put my finger on what was bothering me the most about the site recently, but what you said makes perfect sense and is accurate in my opinion too...
There also is a lot of Spam creeping in, and people are advertising themselves and there philosophy to make a buck on the site. If the article is about impure water, someone comes on selling a filtration system, if the article is about a particular exercise, someone comes on selling their services as either a PT or their gym business. It's all very subtle, but its there. And yeh, lots of one upmanship going on. I think it is just the nature of the site and those who have gravitated towards it...those tin foil hat people as you say...hahahhaaa! Some stuff is just a huge forum for these who are 'reality challenged' and closed minded to spout off about what they think is best for everyone... based on nothing even researched. 'One Size Fits All' thinking, as I like to refer to it as. But, some of it is very entertaining... ![]() Last edited by EmmaPeel : 03-10-10 at 05:52 PM. |
