In that case, Ima just keep eating and quit worrying.

Yeah, strange article really - I get the feeling he doesn't really understand the concept of the diet at all, lol.

FWIW, and that may not be alot, I do get a very strong acid kind of a *feeling* when looking at a lot of foods that they say are in the 'acid' grouping. Though there are a lot of them I don't and would actually disagree with, and a few on the alkaline side I would put on the other (from the link Emma gave). Which sounds a bit kooky BUT I'm very, very good at picking up on people's energy and that of herbs/foods/etc and have done all my life... a lot of them feel hot and inflamed and 'look' sort of rusty browny red (this is very hard to describe in words, lol)... which would correlate with the theory. So based on that alone, I do feel there is merit to the whole thing. But just not as this article put it!

Islander, I think you've got the right idea, lol. Don't worry, just eat what you feel good eating!

I eat a lot of meat at the moment because I feel so much better eating it. Oh noes!

Why oh noes, Izzy? There is nothing wrong with wild game or organic meat and, say, Alaskan salmon. I don't eat much meat but my body demands some, and gets really snarky when it doesn't get what it wants!

Mellow and I both found we need more protein (usually clean meat sources) when we are fighting infection/severe stress.
Might have something to do with the adrenal damage from CFIDS, but if I want to eat chicken and not bother with veggies I am fighting something.

I don't sweat it-figure my body is smarter than the diet gurus.

Same here Reesacat. I can always tell when I am either fighting or about to fight an infection...I crave meat from clean sources and the only veggies I can tolerate are garlic, onions, carrots, celery, legumes, and greens simmered in a broth. My body seems to instinctively avoid foods that metabolize acidic come to think of it!! I JUST realized that!!! I can literally live on this for days...

I'm the same. The 'oh noes' was a bit sarcastic Islander, lol, I've been at a herbal cooking weekend but the kitchen was vegetarian, which is annoying (teacher was a bit annoyed too; she's not into the 'meat is the devil' philosophy a lot of people seem to be).

I love meat; I craaaaaaaave it a lot of the time. Need to eat it or I get sick.
