I'm full of questions atm! I recently purchased a set of beautiful glass spice jars from a second-hand shop... gorgeous, cork-stoppered things they are... anyway, I want to put my own dried herbs in them, but five of the six still smell of the spices that were in them before (I can smell cinnamon, cloves, allspice...). They've been thoroughly handwashed AND put through the dishwasher... any ideas of how to get rid of the smell? Don't want it contaminating my own stuff.

Straight distilled white vinegar might take off any remaining oils. I also make a paste of baking soda and liquid soap to scrub glass, stainless steel, etc.
Smell might be in cork-put them out in sun? |
