Before money got so tight around here, I used to very occasionally go to the local S-bux and ask for a very short, double shot latte, with heavy cream instead of milk. Then they would ask if I meant a breve, which I did not. That would have been made with half and half, which is not quite what I meant. Eventually I would get my concept across, and drink a heavenly beverage. As I never became a "regular", I would have to explain this to the barista every time. This idea came from a friend of mine living in Vancouver BC. In western Washington, we generally would patronize any other non-Sbux coffee vender that could make a decent espresso drink, just out of principle. ![]() |

Good grief. Feeling very pleased that I only really drink water, water, and oh... I dunno... water!!
And the very occasional wine or cider (natural, obvs). Or lately, sparkling grape juice. Because it's just as posh but about a third the price.

I guess it's obvious that I've never been in a SBUX. I think I saw one last time I was in Waterville, a 30-minute drive, but I have no interest. I have one delightful organic rainforest cuppa joe from my french press in the morning, and that's it for the next 24 hours. Water & tea for the rest of the day...oh yes, and wine, of course.

Me too. I do not go to SBUX or any other coffee house. I will not drink coffee made from beans I have no idea where they were traded from, or if they were fair. In fact, I have pretty much done away with coffee for the most part. Just doesn't sit well with me. Islander, I follow your principle too! Tea and water most of the time. ![]() |

Just a quick follow-up: McDonald's (I know, just shoot me now) has a "senior" cup of coffee for 65¢. It's Newman's organic, too. Fact!

Only because it is Newman's ...Paul ensured that everything he manufactured was ethically made and traded, I'm sure

I'm caffiene intolerant therefore I don't need to worry about how my coffee is made, what is in it or where it comes from. Wheeew.

Hahaha, I have a slurp of coffee and everybody will be spending the next five hours trying to peel me off the ceiling.
So err, yes. No problems worrying about that. ![]()
