GROW YOUR OWN GROCERIES!
I am proud and excited to introduce my friend Marjory Wildcraft. Marjory has produced for the aspiring gardener and farmsteader, the most comprehensive package of how-to instructions and advice that I have ever seen. The set contains three disks: two DVDs of hands-on how-tos, and one containing an immense library of print resources. This one collection of video and print DIY resources will replace all the how-to books on your shelf. But I won't waste words. Use this link to let Marjory tell her own amazing story. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

Independent Thinking Now Classified as Mental Illness

In a previous article we reported that psychiatrists have been working on the fourth revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), and in it they hope to add a whole slew of new psychiatric disorders. Here are some of the ones currently being considered for inclusion, many of which are merely differences in personality and behavior among people. The new edition may include "disorders" like oppositional defiant disorder, which includes people who have a pattern of "negativistic, defiant, disobedient and hostile behavior toward authority figures." Some of the "symptoms" of this disorder include losing one's temper, annoying people and being "touchy". Other "disorders" being considered include personality flaws like antisocial behavior, arrogance, cynicism or narcissism. There are even categories for people who binge eat and children who have temper tantrums.

What annoys me, in addition to the patholo-gizing of eccentricities, is the fact that writers/editors no longer recognize that words like criteria and phenomena and media are plural — and have a singular form.

This article reminds of a line from a song by Kath Tait which is so true. The song is called "Small Town Eccentrics" and the line I am referring to is:
"On the edge of normality, lies individuality."

"antisocial behavior, arrogance, cynicism or narcissism"
That pretty much covers most huge corporations and politicians.

I think they're trying to be subtle about stamping out independent thinking and non-conformist anything. If they call it illness, then it would seem (to someone who is not a poor, ill, independent thinker at least) that whatever they suggest or do about it is only to help the poor sufferer, or patient.

People who fancy themselves authority figures seem to think that all they have to do is document something (no matter how ridiculous) and they have right of way to do as they please. Politicians do this all the time. And, of course, it's a one-way street.
