Wow, I forget sometimes that this site is being viewed all over. I've always wanted to visit Japan. I got a bit of a Jones for Samurai Swords. Blessing to all having to go through this disaster.
I contacted Pat Ormsby but have not heard anything back yet. Hope she and her husband are okay.
Later...Just found this msg in my Spambox:
Thank you, Pegg!
We are fine here, but it was really impressive. We are up on the bedrock near Mt. Fuji, so earthquakes are little problem. My husband and I were outside working in the fields and we both experienced it initially as extreme wooziness. My husband thought he was having a blood sugar attack! I didn't know what my problem was. I thought I was going to smack the earth. Then I realized it wasn't me, but rather the Earth that was threatening to smack me! The powerlines were doing the jitterbug and the trees were just beside themselves. The power was out for a long while after that, and I expect there to be power shortages for a while.
I'd better keep this short because I have a lot of people to answer. I'll drop in on Mercola and think of a semi-pertinent comment to let my friends there know I'm okay.
Thank you for thinking of me!
Sincerely,
Pat

Thank you Islander-so glad Pat and husband OK!
I was in Japan from 1956 to 1958 (Air Force brat). I have only a few memories but I do remember typhoons and earthquakes. My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected.
I wish I could tell everyone in Japan that our thoughts and prayers are with them. I was frustrated by not finding a quick way to do that. I've always had an admiration for Japan and its people.
The destruction caused by the Tsunami is horrendous. The earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand pales in comparison. A few hundred lives lost in NZ but it looks like it will be thousands in Japan. My heart goes out to all those affected by both quakes. A 6.1 magnitude quake has recently been reported in Tonga - when will it end.
My heart goes out to everyone who is dealing with these recent disasters, and my prayers (as well as you-all's I know) are going to them.
I'll mention one thing from a science geek perspective though, which is one of the Japanese islands has shifted 8+ feet - Mind boggling -
On a wacky note a nurse quit just the other day from my hosp, siting the end of the world as her reason. Her hub did the same from his job. A copy of the resignation letter is circulating currently, though I haven't seen it yet. Needless to say I think these folks have been a bit hasty.
Mellow, do you think living in such a quake pron area as the Japanese do has led to their mythology and characters such as Godzilla?
Islander, are we talking tin foil hats again? Maybe the nurse who quit should have gotten herself one, then she'd still be working.

Seems like the end of the world would have taken care of that for them nicely.
Has anyone see examples of the great rifts, or cracks, or chasms, that are appearing all over the world? A meter or two wide and perhaps 3 km. long.... This showed up in my Facebook news feed. http://tinyurl.com/4jqx7so
Anybody who may be in danger of being exposed to radiation from the nuclear reactors' near (?) meltdown, should read about how to protect the thyroid with potassium iodide pills or liquid. There's an article here, among other places: http://www.naturalhealthstrategies.c...rotection.html
They are both bogus, my friends, and I have the evidence to prove it. So I hope you're kidding!
