Mellow supplied the link. Thanks!

A pretty picture of a jar of oranges flew around facebook a few months back. With it were directions to make an orange vinegar cleaner. Of course I had to try. Citrus works great as a degreaser, stain remover and freshener. Vinegar is also a great cleaning agent, breaking down mold, grease, mineral deposits and bacteria. Combine the two and you have a great natural cleaner. This cleaner is eco-friendly not only because it is biodegradable and safe to use, but because it is making use of products that would otherwise be thrown in the trash. Here’s how to make it.

@Islander: I subscribe to her blog and emailed myself that recipe along with the borax free dishwasher detergent recipe (she uses the citrus cleaner in the Jet Dry dispenser of the dishwasher).

Make Your Own Zone has tons of these kind of posts. Some are healthy, others not so much. I think she is doing it from the $$ point of view, where as i choose to do it for health, so we do make different choices based on our POV.

I think cinnamon and cloves would be good for scented vinegar, too.

Oh, she also posted my glycerin moisturizer, too. Make Your Own Glycerin Skin Moisturizer (http://www.themakeyourownzone.com/2011/04/make-your-own-glycerin-skin-moisturizer.html)

She has lots more there, too. I disregard most of her cooking/baking recommendations.

Glycerine and rosewater is a very old-fashioned hand moisturiser. Must have been around for a century or so. But the original may not have been made from vegetable glycerine. I have a bottle in the cupboard, years old - thanks for the reminder.

Islander, citrus oil cleaner is available in our supermarket - but your recipe is a lot cheaper!
