I think coffee is also a good source of magnesium if freshly ground.....

Why would it make any difference whether or not it is freshly ground? I wouldn't have thought that magnesium, a mineral, would deteriorate.
I do agree however that freshly ground coffee makes a far superior drink.

I think you are absolutely right, Aaltrude! I was thinking of coffee with all the other benefits which include some anti-oxidants if I am not mistaken. Grinding fresh avoids the oils going rancid also.
