Hi!

This isn't books, i'm planning to start a thread of my favorite, helpful books. But i thought we might do the same with sites we visit with helpful info.

I use NewsTarget a lot. Also the Doctor Yourself site.

Then i have a page of sites under Health in my book marks.

http://www.goodsamiam.com/practices.htm

This good sam site is helpful to remind me of good daily practices. One of the reasons it caught my eye is because yesterday i started a yoga class. It is the gentle type, with much of the focus on breathing, & that's one of the things discussed on this page.

http://www.realfoodliving.com/FAQ.htm

Is a site i found when looking for a sugar to honey conversion table. I don't do much baking these days, but what i do i want to replace the sugar with honey, molasses, & stevia. I've not explored this thoroughly, but what i saw was pretty good. I don't agree with it all.

http://www.socknitters.com/Tips/handcream.htm

Is a page with a recipe for homemade hand cream. I used to have a whole site of making your own shampoos, hand creams, etc., but i can't find it. But this one is pretty good. I've not made it in a while. If you do make it, make only a small quantity as it spoils quickly.

http://allnaturalbeauty.us/hbr_mainpage.htm

Is another of the same type, making your own beauty products.

http://blogs.msdn.com/mswanson/articles/wallpaper.aspx

Is a site of beautiful, downloadable pics that you can use as wallpaper on your homepage. I only downloaded one, of autumn leaves, & there was no charge.

http://www.suelebeau.com/months.htm

Is all about holiday celebrations. It has some history, & some suggestions. It is just fun. I believe she is an educator.

http://makezine.com/blog/

This is one of my husband's favorite sites. It has all kinds of things, things that people have made. Some of it is serious science, & some is just goofy. I think it changes daily. He often brings in a video to show me. Today was on making vampire teeth to fit your own. (I don't recommend it, it's made with the fake fingernail chemicals! But it looked very realistic.) Another was a cool one was a hovercraft that went on land or sea. All kinds of fun things here!

Make it a good day! Love to hear about your favorite sites.

I don't think any of ya'll are into fermenting, but here's some of the sites I spend a lot of time on in that area:
http://bodyecology.com/mcoconutkefir.php

http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefirpage.html

http://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefir_cheese.html

http://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefir_cheese.html

http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/kombucha.htm

I use this site a lot because the recipes are grain free. Many of them are on my diet as is, others I have to adapt, but lots of good ideas here even if you don't have Ulcerative Colitis, Chron's, IBS etc:

PS: Awesome idea Katee!

If you ever want a SCOBY let me know :) You get a new one with every batch lol and as I'm just one person...well you get the picture. I'm hooked on the stuff, just for the taste. I'm also using raw local honey for part of the sugar as an experiment to see if it will help my allergies. If you are interested in Kombucha, here's a yahoo group and boy do these folks know their stuff, lol:

Oh, & if you like comics, you can go to : http://4dd.net/comics.php

You can read a bunch at once.

I've not had time to visit most of the ones listed here, it'll keep me busy for a while! But i love the one with the animals, Reesacat! Thanks so much, guys.

Being a skeptic, I go here a lot to verify what look like urban legends, virus scares etc.:

My quirky humor regularly brings me to

There. It's photos of cats in funny poses, all captioned. Some require a bit of understanding of how computers work. A few rely on your knowing html tags. But most are just simply plain hilarious. Remember, cats dont spel very wel. Sometimes they abbreviate, like ur text msgs. They always missppell "the" as "teh". Having said that...new ones are added daily. Check it out - guaranteed to make u smile!

I too go to snopes.com a lot, however, I have found when it comes to Big Pharma, Big Agriculture, Big Business, Politics and Religion they are blatantly biased to what whoever has the most money has to say. When a question concerning a drug side effect etc starts circulating, they will ALWAYS side on whatever the FDA says and list no opposing view. I have found this to be so time after time. They also do not respond to inquiries asking why they don't present both sides.
