Most people know that the United States has a childhood obesity problem. Less well known is that according to the latest data from the OECD is that we are not actually the world leaders in experiencing this issue. It's Greece and Italy who have the most overweight kids:

These stats are confusing. I heard only yesterday that Australia was taking over the US as no 1, closely followed by New Zealand.

And please don't tell me it's the Mediterranean diet! People have been eating that for centuries - the stats are on modern children, who probably eat fast foods and snack between meals (the biggest culprit, IMO).

I thought this comment from the site was funny:

'Oh, dear - now the Republicans will have ammunition to roll back healthy school lunches so we 'Muricans can be #1 again.'
