First we asked our trusted natural health doctors and integrative physicians about supplement brands they recommend. We then added to the list based on our staff and board experience. Please note that our list is not exhaustive; there are many excellent companies who pay a great deal of attention to quality and efficacy, and not all of them are represented here. However, here are some you may wish to research further to see if they are right for your family.

I have had problems with supplements from Dr. Mercola and I would not recommend them. I got a liposomal C from him that didn't function as a liposomal product — more of an encapsulated product — and I got serious gastric irritation that took months to clear up.

I wonder how much Dr. M paid to have his supps included. After the vitamin C fiasco (and there are threads here discussing it but I can't find them...maybe too old) I would not buy another product from him no matter what!!! There are many brands listed such as Standard Process, that I cannot take but that is my own issue with various sensitivities. I am pretty much down to if the filler isn't a "cellulose" I can't take it. There are 3 companies that I find pretty trustworthy that I don't see on the list: Solgar, Doctor's Best and Source Naturals.

Mellow, I remember that conversation and documentation from LiveOnLabs. I did a search as well and nothing turned up. I'm wondering whether that entire conversation took place on FB, where I doubt it can be resurrected...long time ago. Sure wish I had saved it somewhere!

This is the thread we had the discussion of Mercola's product and LiveOn Labs documentation that it wasn't what it said it was: http://www.hawkeshealth.net/community/showthread.php?t=12234&highlight=LivOn+Labs

Mellow, I'm with you on a "thumbs up" for Solgar and Doctor's Best products. I'm also a repeat buyer of Life Extension and LivOn Labs products, too.

Source Naturals seem to be fine, as well as Planetary Herbals for herbs and herb combinations. Metagenics makes good quality stuff, but quite pricey.
