I like the ray of hope at the end.

Here is the profile of Toxed2loss, a mercola member who has been severely injured by pesticide spray. Clicking on the link under "My Blogs" will take you to her blog where you can read many chapters in her reaching, not toward recovery, but toward, perhaps, mitigation. It was her experiences that really brought home to me the profound severity of MCS.

Thank you for that Islander. I know that I had 18 months of major chemical exposure in 1976-77 but once I was out of that job, I rarely had problems. For me, it was solvents like turpentine, benzene and toluene. Back then the military didn't give us any protective gear except coveralls to protect our uniforms. Then, around 1998, I started reacting violently to Lysol spray where I worked and my problems slowly grew from there. After ending up in the ER and the hospital after they stripped the floors on the unit I worked on, the pulmonologist told me I had MCS. They removed Lysol from the unit, stripped floors when I was off and I really didn't think much about it. In 2006 I bought a mobile home. Because it was used, although only 18 months old, the dealer did not have to make formaldehyde disclosures and I was completely naive. The 3 years in that trailer I guess pushed me over the edge between the formaldehyde and mold. My home has been completely chemical free for nearly 4 years...too little too late. Reading her story and some others, I feel blessed that I can still get out a little even if I have to tolerate fear and weird looks because of the mask. It could be worse.
