    Re: What Causes Dry Eyes?

I'm sure all the antihistamines I have to take makes my dry eyes and mouth much worse.

Re: 5 Reasons to Rethink Chicken

Chicken, so long as it is "minimally processed" and contains ONLY 3-5 % "retained water" is one of the only allergy safe meats for me. And of those meats I can eat, chicken is the safest in terms of...
  3. Re: Is Quinoa a Safe Gluten Free Food Alternative?

The more I work with my food avoidance lists (iodine, nickel, histamine) the more I find I may have been mistaking one source of allergy for another. Quinoa is high in nickel, for example. I seem to...
  4. Re: Time Lapse Photos Show Woman Losing 88 Lbs. on High-fat Low-carb Ketogenic Diet

Not to be too much of a downer, but remember the woman is only 26 years old. If I lost 88 pounds in similar clothing, I'd have a ton of loose skin hanging off/out every where, and I can guarantee my...
  5. Re: Why You Can No Longer Trust The USDA Organic Label

I suppose one could take the attitude that if a label claims "organic" there is at least some chance that some part of the food really is organic, and that if a label does not claim "organic" there...
  6. Re: Genetically engineered oilseed rape (Canola) out of control

I believe the same is true of ALL genetically engineered plants. I believe they are ALL out of control. At least all those that are wind pollinated, and I don't see much reason why insect pollinated...

    Re: 25 HOUSEHOLD TIPS

[QUOTE=Islander;62182]Solly, egg whites are part of the whole egg, nature's most nearly perfect food!

Yes, I know, I just can't gag them down. In baked goods or recipes where they disappear, ok,...

    Re: 25 HOUSEHOLD TIPS

I take issue with #10. I wash and re-use plastic bags as much as possible. Adding some vinegar to a couple drops dish liquid when washing the bags really gets grease off, and allows re-use of greasy...
  9. Re: Mainstream Medicine Finally Admits These Treatments Work For Prostate Cancer

I keep running across info that IGF-1 is very problematic lately. It was not so long ago that I war reading that it was great stuff? Or do I confuse it with something else?

Re: The Health Hazards of Cast Iron Pans

    Islander:
You also donate blood regularly right? Or am I thinking of someone else? I got rid of all my cast iron as much because of the sheer weight issues of the iron pans but also because I was...
  11. Re: Turmeric Extract 100% Effective At Preventing Type 2 Diabetes, ADA Journal Study

You mean concern for the high histamine? In the case of cinnamon it IS a concern for me. I can't use it anymore, and I haven't found anything safe for me that really replaces it. Of course it may not...

  13. Re: Turmeric Extract 100% Effective At Preventing Type 2 Diabetes, ADA Journal Study

Interesting. It says turmeric reduces histamine. I'm sure I read somewhere that turmeric is high in histamine, but can't find it. Maybe my memory is faulty.
However cinnamon IS high in histamine,...

    Re: The Overlooked Bone-Building Nutrient

No boron for me since I found out it increases estrogen levels. I struggle with excess estrogen still, and it is over 20 years post complete hysterectomy. I have read that serotonin also increases...

  19. Re: NO-POO for healthy hair... try this beaut' wee tip!

I have used the no-poo just as DizzyIzzy says to do off and on for years. When I am having a flare of scalp itching and formication (I have chronic urticarial), it is the only thing that doesn't...

Well, darn. I've been a subscriber for years. I don't use the reports as hard and fast recommendations though. I look for things like contaminants. I do like their articles on various supplements....

Re: Latest Science On Rooibos & NettleTea

Thanks so much for that! It relieves my mind, and I've missed my tea, LOL. I am guessing that the natural fluoride in the water here would probably be calcium fluoride? At any rate probably because...
  23. Re: Even Small Doses Of These Vitamins Can Stop Pain From Diabetic Neuropathy

B1 and copper are my go-to supplements when my neuropathy worsens.
I have read several times that zinc is also good for neuropathy, but taking B1 and zinc just doesn't seem to work for me.
