  1. Re: From ‘brain fog’ to heart damage, COVID-19’s lingering problems alarm scientists

The point to be gained from this, and from other articles of information which I have read, is that it is a big mistake to focus only upon death rates from Covid. If recovery means only being...
  2. Re: Coronavirus: ‘Very low’ risks to children mean school reopenings are safe, expert

Living children tend to be more efficient learners than do dead children.

Athena Akrami’s neuroscience lab reopened last month without her. Life for the 38-year-old is a pale shadow of what it was before 17 March, the day she first...

  6. Re: Rebuttal Of Study That Says Keto Diets Don't Work

And no wonder so much distrust has built up about the official government recommendations for anything. When so many official edicts have been revealed to be just so much BS, sponsored by various...
  7. Re: Eat Less Red Meat, Scientists Said. Now Some Believe That Was Bad Advice.

As usual, the devil is in the details. What was the animal fed during its life? "Red meat" from cattle can be toxic to humans if the animal is fattened quickly by being fed corn, soybeans, etc....

Re: The Mask Slackers Of 1918

What Mr Wizard said. As well, there is a certain attitude and mind set among some people which says "it can't happen to me, I'm so special, it might happen to other people but not to me". I don't...

Re: Raw Deal? (Raw millk sales)

Goat meat is extremely popular around here. I don't particularly care for it, but as a properly prepared curry dish, it can be quite delicious. It's a Caribbean specialty.
  11. Re: If Relaxed Too Soon, Physical Distancing Measures Might Have Been All For Naught

Same here. This is a small island, and our Covid cases had been in the single digits for several months. Then the desire for dollars took over the Governor's senses. Tourists and refinery workers...

Re: Raw Deal? (Raw millk sales)

Let's not forget goats' milk, along with the cheese and yogurt made from it. It is available straight from the farmer, and I find it to be much more digestible than cows' milk products.
  13. Re: Blood Test Can Detect Cancer Years Before Symptoms Show

Islander's question exactly is my concern about this and about all of the "screening" tests which constantly are being pushed at us. In my mind, if I were not to be doing anything differently with...
  14. Re: Covid-19 Vaccines With ‘Minor Side Effects’ Could Still Be Pretty Bad

Would I take a chance on one of these new "not too many side effects" vaccines? Not a snowball's chance in hell.

Re: Turmeric Could Have Antiviral Properties

Each year, I ask one of my my favorite local farmers as to how close we are to the end of the turmeric season. When it gets close to the end of season, I buy quite a lot of turmeric root and freeze...
  17. Re: Are Seed Oils Behind the Majority of Diseases This Century?

It's too bad, because there was a time, actually for quite a few years, that I got more interesting information from the comments than from the articles. That time has gone. I have not been banned,...

  20. Re: The Real Reason Almonds Are Destroying California

A long time ago, when I lived in a house which had a functioning oven, I used to soak raw, organic nuts in salted water overnight, then roast them under low heat for many hours (don't remember how...

Re: Showering daily — is it necessary?

For me it is sort of personal. In the tropics in the summertime, I really can't stand myself if I don't at least rinse off daily. I always was taught to use soap only on "pits, parts, and feet",...
