    Re: My March 16, 2020 A1c

Congratulations, Islander! I'm so happy to hear it. (Are you still able to enjoy your homemade wine?)

Re: A WARNING ABOUT COVID-19 mRNA VACCINES

I'm sorry if I'm not making this clear. The Supreme Court said you cannot physically force someone to get vaccinated, but you can make rules for what happens if someone chooses not to get vaccinated,...

Re: A WARNING ABOUT COVID-19 mRNA VACCINES

The way I see it, it's one and the same, because the Supreme Court says it's just fine and dandy for government at any level, if they want to, to make life very very difficult for those who refuse to...

Re: A WARNING ABOUT COVID-19 mRNA VACCINES

I'm so glad you're in contact with Anthony Samsel, Islander. I deeply respect his knowledge and wisdom.

Maybe this is in the vax inserts (I haven't read them yet, but thanks for the link), but...

Re: How Foods Affect Our Sleep

Julieanne and Islander, have you tried magnesium? It helps me sleep, and is known to have that effect. I read you should take it around dinnertime for it to be helpful at bedtime. It also helps...
  6. Re: Why sleep experts say it's time to ditch daylight saving time

I figured it out. We have year-round ST: earlier sunrises and earlier sunsets. People in Brazil use the military time jargon to refer to time. At first I had to subtract twelve to figure out an...
  7. Re: Why sleep experts say it's time to ditch daylight saving time

Hmm. I think we must've gone with year-round ST, but as dumb as this sounds, I'm not sure.
  8. Re: Why sleep experts say it's time to ditch daylight saving time

I confess I haven't read the article, but the last couple years here in Brazil, they've ditched the changing of the clocks, and I love it. It might seem like a small thing, but it makes a difference.

Re: 9 Foods That Shouldn't Be Consumed Raw

You're right, Mr. Wiz. Raw egg whites do have that problem. One workaround is to eat only the yolks raw.

Re: 9 Foods That Shouldn't Be Consumed Raw

It seems it would be a shame to cook most sprouts (mung bean sprouts being an exception). I wonder if the same alleged problems would be present if you sprouted seeds at home? I used to do that a...
  11. Re: Ensuring Uptake of Vaccines against SARS-CoV-2

You've articulated one of my main concerns, Maurya.

Re: 9 Foods That Shouldn't Be Consumed Raw

For some reason I can't access the link, so I don't know what other foods are mentioned. But I agree completely with you, Islander, about milk and eggs, with the caveat that I wouldn't eat...
  13. Re: Ensuring Uptake of Vaccines against SARS-CoV-2

I respectfully disagree. And remember that fairly early on (late December, I think, but I'm not sure) the WHO continued to parrot China's affirmation that the virus didn't spread from person to...
  14. Re: Ensuring Uptake of Vaccines against SARS-CoV-2

Why wouldn't a sovereign nation want to make its own rules instead of agreeing (quite possibly without even knowing ahead of time what they'd be agreeing to) to obey rules made by non-elected global...
  15. Re: Ensuring Uptake of Vaccines against SARS-CoV-2

And THAT is even more chilling.
  16. Re: Ensuring Uptake of Vaccines against SARS-CoV-2

The specter of mandatory vaccination, no matter by what other name they want to call it, is beyond chilling.
  17. Ensuring Uptake of Vaccines against SARS-CoV-2

From the New England Journal of Medicine

Ensuring Uptake of Vaccines against SARS-CoV-2

    Michelle M. Mello, J.D., Ph.D., Ross D. Silverman, J.D., M.P.H., and Saad B. Omer, M.B., B.S., M.P.H.,...

Re: 10 Herbs And Supplements For Menopause

I was glad to see the herb vitex (also called agnus castus and chasteberry, among other monikers) on the list. This was readily available in capsule form here when I needed it for a couple of bouts...

    Re: President Trump being hospitalized

Until recently, no matter what one's political opinions or leanings, pretty much everyone in the country would be interested in and even concerned about the president's health. I'm not arguing that...

Thanks for this important information, Mr. Wizard. It sounds serious indeed.
  22. Re: Texas city declares disaster after brain-eating amoeba found in tap water

I'm sorry, but I'm at a loss to understand how that article could make anyone laugh. The situation is serious.

    Re: Islander's Broccoflower-Cheese Bake

Lately I've been making the following with broccoli, cauliflower, or a combination of both: I put previously-steamed broc/cauli in some hot coconut oil in a frying pan, stir once or twice, add an egg...

Re: Top 5 Health Benefits Of Cauliflower

It's very good to have some of the benefits and nutrients of cauliflower enumerated like this. In the winter (haha, winter so to speak) here, I usually buy three heads of organic cauliflower and/or...
