What Mr. Wizard said. Don't worry about us. Just be with your family. Julieanne will keep us in line.

Re: The 50 most hated office jargon phrases

Yes! Often not even 'now' is needed, as the verb tense conveys the time. "I'm writing a post." "I teach English." etc.

    Re: Hurricane Dorian

I'm happy to hear you're okay, Maurya, and hope the new storm dissipates before reaching land.

Re: The 50 most hated office jargon phrases

"On a daily (weekly, monthly, etc.) basis"--Four words when just one of them works perfectly well, thank you.
  6. Re: How One FDA Scientist Saved American Children From a Birth Defect Catastrophe

What a wise, intelligent, courageous woman! It's too bad the FDA doesn't have more people like her today.

I remember seeing photos in the newspaper of 'thalidomide babies' with malformed limbs ...
  7. Re: Chipotle, Sweetgreen bowls are linked to cancer-causing chemicals

What a pity! When I last visited the US, my niece took me fairly often to Chipotle. I liked their food, and a bowl was enough for lunch plus to bring home for another meal. But I have to admit I...
  8. Re: Lime Juice Could Save 100's Of Lives A Year

Julieanne, the most common 'lemons' here are called (in Portuguese, of course) "Tahitian lemons", but they are what Americans, at least, call limes. The lemons we're most used to are much harder to...
  9. Re: The Ignored Vitamin Cure For Macular Degeneration

That's great news, Islander. I'm happy for you.
  10. Re: Major Survey Tracks Health Of Unvaccinated Children

    Fantastic news.
  11. Re: Important Advice and Useful Tips on Hiring Personal Trainer

Who is the author of the article?
  12. Re: 10 Best Nootropics Ingredients: A Review Of What Actually Works

Islander, that must smell heavenly indeed!
  13. Re: 10 Best Nootropics Ingredients: A Review Of What Actually Works

Julieanne, I wonder if another brand of melatonin would work for you? After my daughter died, I stayed at my son's house for some time. I was sleeping horribly, and he offered me a melatonin tablet...
  14. Re: Google: Organic Is A Lie, Supplements Are Dangerous, Chiropractic Fake

Google and You Tube, and probably others, have been doing this for a long time. It's downright wicked, if you ask me, no matter on what subject they're doing the censoring and manipulation, and...
  15. Re: Bill Gates-Backed Startup Makes Avocados Last Twice As Long

And, ladies and gentlemen, as a bonus, "Edipeel" even comes on produce with certified organic labels! (And my guess is they don't have to mention its existence anyplace on the produce, though I...
  16. Re: Bill Gates-Backed Startup Makes Avocados Last Twice As Long

Can we trust this stuff? I sleuthed a bit, and could not find an ingredients list. Lots of mentions of 'plant-derived', lipids from peels, etc., but no actual list.

    Apparently the product has...
  17. Re: Hold the Phone! Are you going to grow a horn from using your smartphone?

I hate texting, and part of the reason is that it's just an uncomfortable position. Not that it hurts, but it really feels unnatural. Here in Brazil, EVERYBODY uses WhatsApp, because it's free....

Re: Indigestion Pills Killing 4% Of Users

How many doctors who prescribe these meds keep the patients on them for longer than mentioned here (two weeks)? And how many have an inkling of the possible side effects? It's so important that...
  19. Re: Exposé: billion-dollar back surgery scam, doctor kickbacks, fake hardware

I wish I could truthfully say, "Wow! Shocking!", but unfortunately, as awful as this is, it's not shocking. And when I read about the long-term pain some of those operated on endured, I have to...
  20. Re: Protein Shakes: Muscles Today, Health Problems Tomorrow

Don't forget eggs as an excellent source of protein!
  21. Re: America's garlic capital on trade war: 'We'd love the tariffs to stay for ever'

That's true if American garlic isn't irradiated. I don't know whether it is or not, but at any rate, your point is important, Grulla.
  22. Re: Vaccine Exemption Removal Bills ARE the War on Women

    I agree with you, Islander.
  23. Re: Vaccine Exemption Removal Bills ARE the War on Women

What a good idea, Mr. Wizard. And it's only nine pages long; it wouldn't be hard to print it up and take it with you. That, and something quoting the 'unavoidably unsafe' designation Congress gave...
  24. Re: Vaccine Exemption Removal Bills ARE the War on Women

It’s also a war on babies, healthy children, and freedom.
  25. Re: DHHS: N.H. Child Didn't Have Measles, Just Vaccine Reaction

Anybody care to comment? I tend to repeat the same things about this type of article. Well, I will start out with this: "just" vaccine reaction? I also disagree with the characterization later in the...
