    Re: Mercury confusion

Do you have a reaction even if you eat just one? I've read that you shoudn't eat a lot, as some people get headaches from them. Of course, I imagine the one which is said to give you the 'daily...
  3. Re: Beauty is only peel deep: New delivery service offers 'ugly' produce

Wonderful idea and plan. Shocking statistics!

When we lived in Argentina, it was fascinating to compare the fruits grown in two different cities that were just a few hours away from each other....

So true, Mr. Wizard, about the HH community. And I whole-heartedly agree with Islander about your contributions. Please keep them coming.
  5. Re: For The First Time Walking Patterns Identify Specific Types Of Dementia

Glad to hear you're eating more eggs, Islander. My husband and I eat a lot of organic eggs.
  6. Re: Vitamin C Therapy Linked To Better Survival Rates After Sepsis

I may be wrong, but it's my understanding that when Vit. C is infused, it doesn't affect the bowels the way it does when taken orally. That said, I agree with you that even when taken orally, bowel...

And remember, Brazil nuts are high in selenium, which is also good for eye health. I try to eat a few almost every day.

Re: The 50 most hated office jargon phrases

Yes! Often not even 'now' is needed, as the verb tense conveys the time. "I'm writing a post." "I teach English." etc.

Re: The 50 most hated office jargon phrases

"On a daily (weekly, monthly, etc.) basis"--Four words when just one of them works perfectly well, thank you.
  13. Re: How One FDA Scientist Saved American Children From a Birth Defect Catastrophe

What a wise, intelligent, courageous woman! It's too bad the FDA doesn't have more people like her today.

I remember seeing photos in the newspaper of 'thalidomide babies' with malformed limbs ...
  14. Re: Chipotle, Sweetgreen bowls are linked to cancer-causing chemicals

What a pity! When I last visited the US, my niece took me fairly often to Chipotle. I liked their food, and a bowl was enough for lunch plus to bring home for another meal. But I have to admit I...
  15. Re: Lime Juice Could Save 100's Of Lives A Year

Julieanne, the most common 'lemons' here are called (in Portuguese, of course) "Tahitian lemons", but they are what Americans, at least, call limes. The lemons we're most used to are much harder to...

  20. Re: 10 Best Nootropics Ingredients: A Review Of What Actually Works

Julieanne, I wonder if another brand of melatonin would work for you? After my daughter died, I stayed at my son's house for some time. I was sleeping horribly, and he offered me a melatonin tablet...
  21. Re: Google: Organic Is A Lie, Supplements Are Dangerous, Chiropractic Fake

Google and You Tube, and probably others, have been doing this for a long time. It's downright wicked, if you ask me, no matter on what subject they're doing the censoring and manipulation, and...
  22. Re: Bill Gates-Backed Startup Makes Avocados Last Twice As Long

And, ladies and gentlemen, as a bonus, "Edipeel" even comes on produce with certified organic labels! (And my guess is they don't have to mention its existence anyplace on the produce, though I...
  23. Re: Bill Gates-Backed Startup Makes Avocados Last Twice As Long

Can we trust this stuff? I sleuthed a bit, and could not find an ingredients list. Lots of mentions of 'plant-derived', lipids from peels, etc., but no actual list.

    Apparently the product has...
  24. Re: Hold the Phone! Are you going to grow a horn from using your smartphone?

I hate texting, and part of the reason is that it's just an uncomfortable position. Not that it hurts, but it really feels unnatural. Here in Brazil, EVERYBODY uses WhatsApp, because it's free....
