  1. Re: 10 Best Nootropics Ingredients: A Review Of What Actually Works

Islander, that must smell heavenly indeed!
  2. Re: 10 Best Nootropics Ingredients: A Review Of What Actually Works

Julieanne, I wonder if another brand of melatonin would work for you? After my daughter died, I stayed at my son's house for some time. I was sleeping horribly, and he offered me a melatonin tablet...
  3. Re: Google: Organic Is A Lie, Supplements Are Dangerous, Chiropractic Fake

Google and You Tube, and probably others, have been doing this for a long time. It's downright wicked, if you ask me, no matter on what subject they're doing the censoring and manipulation, and...
  4. Re: Bill Gates-Backed Startup Makes Avocados Last Twice As Long

And, ladies and gentlemen, as a bonus, "Edipeel" even comes on produce with certified organic labels! (And my guess is they don't have to mention its existence anyplace on the produce, though I...
  5. Re: Bill Gates-Backed Startup Makes Avocados Last Twice As Long

Can we trust this stuff? I sleuthed a bit, and could not find an ingredients list. Lots of mentions of 'plant-derived', lipids from peels, etc., but no actual list.

    Apparently the product has...
  6. Re: Hold the Phone! Are you going to grow a horn from using your smartphone?

I hate texting, and part of the reason is that it's just an uncomfortable position. Not that it hurts, but it really feels unnatural. Here in Brazil, EVERYBODY uses WhatsApp, because it's free....

Re: Indigestion Pills Killing 4% Of Users

How many doctors who prescribe these meds keep the patients on them for longer than mentioned here (two weeks)? And how many have an inkling of the possible side effects? It's so important that...
  8. Re: Exposé: billion-dollar back surgery scam, doctor kickbacks, fake hardware

I wish I could truthfully say, "Wow! Shocking!", but unfortunately, as awful as this is, it's not shocking. And when I read about the long-term pain some of those operated on endured, I have to...
  9. Re: Protein Shakes: Muscles Today, Health Problems Tomorrow

Don't forget eggs as an excellent source of protein!
  10. Re: America's garlic capital on trade war: 'We'd love the tariffs to stay for ever'

That's true if American garlic isn't irradiated. I don't know whether it is or not, but at any rate, your point is important, Grulla.
  11. Re: Vaccine Exemption Removal Bills ARE the War on Women

    I agree with you, Islander.
  12. Re: Vaccine Exemption Removal Bills ARE the War on Women

What a good idea, Mr. Wizard. And it's only nine pages long; it wouldn't be hard to print it up and take it with you. That, and something quoting the 'unavoidably unsafe' designation Congress gave...
  13. Re: Vaccine Exemption Removal Bills ARE the War on Women

It’s also a war on babies, healthy children, and freedom.
  14. Re: DHHS: N.H. Child Didn't Have Measles, Just Vaccine Reaction

Anybody care to comment? I tend to repeat the same things about this type of article. Well, I will start out with this: "just" vaccine reaction? I also disagree with the characterization later in the...
  15. DHHS: N.H. Child Didn't Have Measles, Just Vaccine Reaction

This case was originally reported by local health officials as measles. Even Time magazine reported on the measles case in NH.

  16. Re: American Food Techniques "Sell by" and "Best Used By" Labels on Food Packaging

Hot is putting it mildly, Islander. Often humid, too. Our looong summer is crazy hot; spring and fall are sometimes hot, sometimes very warm; 'winter' would probably seems warm to you. Actual winter...
  17. Re: Tetanus Vaccine Causes a New Disease Known as Antiphospholipid Syndrome

I remember the very few times as a child I had some accident considered tetanus-potential, my non-vaccinating mother refused the regular shot and asked the doctor for something else. I think it was...
  18. Re: American Food Techniques "Sell by" and "Best Used By" Labels on Food Packaging

Not in Rio de Janeiro! I tried keeping my organic eggs (and we eat a lot of them) out of the fridge, away from sunlight, and I lost of lot of them. Now I refrigerate, but I only wash them if needed...
  19. Re: Thousands of cancer diagnoses tied to a poor diet, study finds

One thing that struck me was the emphasis on the alleged benefits of whole grains in preventing cancer. I wonder if that benefit is actually from high fiber. (It especially referred to colorectal...
  20. Re: You Can't Starve' Cancer, But You May Help Treat It with Food

We can get organic broccoli in the organic farmers' market here (it's a 'winter'-hahahah-vegetable only, even though it grows in a very nearby, cooler mountainous area), but not broccoli seeds for...
  21. Re: FDA Adds Black Boxed Warning to Insomnia Drugs

That's interesting about looking 'hard' at daylight, Islander. I need as near to total darkness as possible to sleep well, but as soon as I'm up, I crave daylight. I'm so happy you've found a simple,...
  22. Re: Judge rules New York county can’t ban unvaccinated children from schools, parks

Years ago, my adult son and his pregnant wife happened to be visiting us when he came down with the mumps. He stayed in bed as long as was necessary, to protect 'the family jewels', and they went on...
  23. Re: Resting Heart Rate Above 75? It Could Be An indicator Of Early Death

    Mine, too, Islander. Yay!
  24. Re: Turmeric Tonic Treats Chronic Scalp Psoriasis

My mother used to use zinc oxide on our noses and shoulders as a sunblock (I burned very easily). I think she also used it on my heat rash in certain areas. Some people use it on babies' bottoms. ...

    Re: No sex since 1955

Hilarious! Military time is used routinely here in Brazil, in everyday life. I have to tell my students that in the US it's pretty much only the military and maybe a few other situations that use it.
