She's FUNNY! Love her casual style!

I do mine in mason jars and my long-time recipe calls for way more salt. Maybe because I don't pound, I cover with water. Ferments just fine! I like adding apple, I'll try that next batch I make.

I like adding granny smith apples. Didn't watch the video so don't know what she uses but... I also add daikon radish, carrots, juniper berries and red pepper flakes depending on what I have around.

Mellow, that sounds more like kimchi.

Oh, that sounds good. I have to make time to prepare some. Mellow's recipe sound delectable too. It seems I barely have time to make kefir and kombucha. I want to try some of this. It sounds pretty good. Has anyone tried it?

I think I just started adding various things people talked about on a fermenting group I belonged to, lol. Guess it's my own thing and it's never the same twice

It sounded really good...till I got to the price. Guess not! A bit too rich for my blood!

Sorry Islander. I guess I didn't go that far. I stopped at this stuff sounds good. I didn't mean to stickershock you. I'm a newbie at fermentation, except for kefir and kombucha. If I got some organic papaya, I wonder if I could make it myself to save money.

Heh. I wouldn't pay $20/pint for anything except single malt scotch!

Bet you could. If you can't find organic papaya, beware because at least 50% of papayas from Hawaii are GMO. I was able to find one recipe that is fermented, not vinegar:
Also, you do not have to have the Pickl-it contraption.

Looks interesting. I may try it sometime.

Pickl-it contraption? Unless you're making a quart of wine, total waste of money.....
