Default Is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome an Autoimmune Disease?

This article appeared on the front page of Blogcritics yesterday. I think it is interesting that in the past two months, two articles about CFIDS have been published in Discover Magazine. That says something.

For decades, a heated debate has raged over the nature of the illness known variously as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and/or myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME). Historically, the two warring camps have been divided between “it’s all in their heads” and “we’re still looking.” But while both sides have consistently referred to CFS/ME as an “enigma,” it turns out the source of the illness may very well have been under everyone’s nose the whole time.

It is possible that this is consistent with Dr Pall's theory the Multi System Illnesses, including CFS/ME, are the result of an upregulation of the NO/ONOO- cycle in various parts of the body. In this case the cycle up regulation could be occurring within the immune system. There has been increasing evidence that Dr Pall's theory is correct.

I have been following Dr. Wahl's protocol for MS to rebuild mitochondria function and switch off auto-immune triggers and have had the best control of symptoms for CFIDS in 30 years. (It is basically the auto-immune Paleo diet with a few tweaks.) I am on a grain-free, dairy-free, soy-free, chemical free diet of organic food as much as possible with 9 cups vegetables and a few fruits a day.

Dr. Wahl's video on reversing MS with diet can be seen at:
