    The modern diet of processed foods, takeaways and microwave meals could be to blame for a sharp increase in autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, including alopecia, asthma and eczema.

    I find it interesting that they are considering the salt (processed salt) to be the culprit and not the other garbage found in processed foods. This is one of those studies where they went looking for data to confirm their thoughts and looked at salt and nothing else. Well, duh....the salt content in processed food is sky high. Basically, without reading the real study, I find these "findings" ludicrous because wheat, HFCS etc etc were not even considered as factors. This almost seems like a study to try to force the US to limit salt consumption. I do like that they recommend unprocessed, mineral laden salt.

    Dr Rodney Ford, aka Dr Gluten, considers gluten is a major contributing factor to Autoimmune Disease and says he avoids gluten for this reason alone although he has no indication that he is gluten intolerant.
    I know someone who says his Hashimotos Disease disappeared on a gluten free diet.
