    Thanks Reesacat and Maurya. This is a very good comprehensive article on magnesium types. I take the magnesium threonate by Life Extension, and occasionally, the albion chelated glycinate by Swanson Ultra. Here's a link to the threonate. It's kind of new so there are only two references, but after two years of taking it, I am so far sold on this form of magnesium.

    Thanks so much, Reesacat! My take on this is that differing forms of Mg (as well as other nutrients, along the same lines) are appropriate at different times. One form or another might be appropriate, not only at different times of the day, but depending on physical or mental activity levels, amount of perspiration, and other factors, as well. Here is one more situation where one size absolutely does not fit all!

    Thanks for this article. It confirms that the malate form I have been taking as suggested by the Pall protocol for the Multi System Illnesses, is probably the best for me followed by Orotate however as this form is very expensive, I'll stick with the malate.
