Default Three Drugs that Made Big Pharma Millions Despite Deadly Risks

    ELIZABETH RENTER

Despite knowing the health risks, big pharmaceutical companies, like Astra Zeneca and Eli Lilly, release potentially-harmful drugs to the market to make millions before the risks are discovered.

If you’re a large pharmaceutical company and you have an inkling that one of your products-in-development could cause serious health risks for patients, what do you do? Well, if you’re like Astra Zeneca, Eli Lilly, and others, you release your potentially-harmful drugs to the public, and you do it quickly so you can make as much money as possible before the risks are discovered.

A drug is created, the pharmaceutical company gets away with as little testing as possible and then rushes it off to market to make their millions. This is how the industry works. What’s more, only a portion of their trials, many bia, even reach the public – so we’re not even being told the whole truth. They make you think it’s all about your health, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Thanks Islander. I was fortunate to have a pharmacology prof who "got it", and went into the problems with getting a drug to market and making a profit before it goes off patent. This was a good article that touches on some of the theme she discussed. I really like the statement that pharma wants everyone on something cradle to grave. It's very true. So many problems in this country right now. It all boils down to getting the money out of politics.

Interesting comment under the article - sounds like useful information.

"When getting a new prescription always go to "worst pills best pills" and check their evaluation. Started years ago by Ralph Nader, it has kept its credibility through the years, warning about dangerous drugs way before they were removed from the market s.a.: Viox, Phen phen, Darvon and more."

Great site, Julie. Thank you for mentioning it. For the record, the URL is https://www.worstpills.org/. Just to check, I looked up Fluoroquinolones and found a lot of the information that Katee has referred to over the years.

    "Profit is the Driver..."

Of course it is. Always has been. Anyone naive enough to think Big Pharma's number one concern is better health runs the risk of wrecking their own health. Sadly, there are many such people who are foolishly trusting.
