    Default 6634 Votes from a Win in Oregon

    Received undated e-mail article #448 on 11-13-14
    By Katherine Paul and Ronnie Cummins

    Don’t believe everything you read in the papers. We have not yet lost Measure 92, Oregon’s initiative to label GMOs.

    According to the YES on 92 campaign, we are only 6634 votes (as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 12) from a win. If we get to within a margin of 49.80 percent (we're currently at 49.78!), we’ll trigger an automatic recount, paid for by the state.

    Currently there are 13,000 voter errors on this election. They are urging all Organ voters to check if they have an error with their ballot and please correct the problem if the is one. Links are provided to make it easy.

    This just arrived in my e-mail from the Organic Consumers' Association today;

    "You won’t believe this: Election observers for the Monsanto-backed No on 92 Coalition have been THROWN OUT of at least three recount sites because they were not Oregon residents as required by law.
    That’s right: The big pesticide and junk food companies driving the opposition to Measure 92 couldn’t find enough Oregonians to observe the recount on their behalf, so they had to bring in illegal observers from out of state!
    This could be just the tip of the iceberg: We need YOUR HELP to stand strong against Monsanto’s attempts to tip the recount in their favor."

    And there is more; "They’re at it again."

    "First, the Monsanto-backed No on 92 Coalition tried to send illegal out-of-state observers to recount locations. Now, they’re being accused of trying to disrupt recount proceedings in at least one county that voted heavily in favor of Measure 92.

    What’s more, according to the Statesman-Journal, No on 92 may have tried to send the state affairs director from a Big Food front group – a Virginia resident – to illegally observe the recount in Marion county." ---OCA---

    I would provide links if I could, but the URLs on these OCA bulletins reflect my e-mail address and therefore not useable to supply as a link to others. And the OCA website doesn't make these bulletins available at their website, at least not in a timely fashion, so I have to resort to "cut n paste". Perhaps there is a way to link these e-mail bulletins, but my computer skills are very limited.

    It;s ok, Grulla, I'll bet most here are on the Organic Consumers Association mailing list.
