Default Google health announcement may be censorship in disguise

    February 19, 2015

Comrade Google censoring your health information?

There are four simple words that give me sweats every time they come out of some politician or a company making a fortune pushing prescription drugs.
    I’m here to help.

And right now, your uncensored access to honest medical information… free from the influence of the mainstream or the pill pushers at Big Pharma… is under attack. And the same company that claims it’s “helping” you is actually helping itself to boatloads of drug company cash.

Google, America’s most visited website and the third largest company in the world, wants to start closely managing what you see every time you search for health information online. They’re going to start serving pre-screened, “approved” information written by a small group of docs hand-selected by Google.

I haven't yet read the whole article, but when I saw an article announcing this plan of Google's, I also thought 'censorship' immediately.

    Some alternatives to Google

    http://www.dogpile.com/

    https://nz.search.yahoo.com/search?p...search&iscqry=

    https://nz.search.yahoo.com/search?p...search&iscqry=

These are the result of searches on the term "Search Engines" on this search website:

The only thing I use Google search for is when I am unsure how to spell a word. It's function of automatically loading the word it thinks you are typing is quite useful in this respect.

Why not just use an online dictionary? You could bookmark your favorite. You might see all sorts of interesting, useful, educational things while you're at it. I'm very partial to dictionaries, and have many 'hard' (as in hard copy) ones on my bookshelves, too.

Funny, I have dictionary.com on my browser bar but I do what Aaltrude does, immediately type it into Google and get the correct spelling. Just faster I guess...
