Forget your Rx. Pet your kitty. If you aren’t feeling your finest, we definitely recommend resting up and hitting up a pharmacy for a sick kit (cough drops, kleenex, etc.)
BUT we’re also here to tell you that you’ve probably been overlooking one super-effective remedy: YOUR CAT. Yes, we’re serious. And it’s safe to say crazy cat ladies are making a (better) name for themselves these days. (Don’t worry ladies, soon enough the rest of the world will get you.) So … what do we mean?
According to Gemma Busquest, the vibrations created when a cat purrs has a therapeutic impact on humans — It lowers stress, blood pressure, risk of heart attack, and so much more.

I agree 100%. My tiny kitten, Smudge, purrs for me. This is the first I've had in many years that purrs. I don't know why some cats do when some cats don't. Maybe someone here can explain that to me? But it's such a calm relaxing sound. Remember that video I posted in Humor about playing with kittens? The headphones in that experience were broadcasting a purr in the background the whole time that people were playing with the kittens!

All three of our cats purr (although Jasper's is very, very quiet).

A couple nights ago I was having a disturbing dream and Pistachio gave me a massage, laid down on my arm as close to my face as she could get, started purring really loud and went to sleep. She's almost always by me or on me if she's not playing outside. Right now, she's 6 inches away.

My Smudge is like that. You've seen her. Time to put up more pix!
