Antibiotic resistant urinary tract infections are increasingly common, leaving many looking for natural alternatives. Grapefruit seed extract may be an effective treatment that is safe, affordable and easily accessible.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a common nuisance, disproportionately afflicting women, most of who will have a UTI at some point in their lives. UTIs when left untreated or when conventional treatment with antibiotics fail, can progress to more serious kidney infections. They are also of great concern for pregnant women, as the changes in prostaglandins and cytokines they induce can contribute to preterm delivery.

This is fascinating. It says the subjects took 5-6 grapefruit seeds every eight hours. I wonder how ingested them. Did they chew them? Swallow them whole? It says seeds, not extract or capsules. I'm really curious.

Eating the seeds would also be a lot cheaper than taking gse, which is relatively expensive. I have two grapefruit trees, but no-one wants the fruit because it is yellow, not pink. Even the pic above the gmi article shows pink grapefruit.

What's wrong with yellow grapefruit? Most grapefruit here is yellow. And I chew the seeds because I read somewhere a long time ago that they were good for me...I forget just why...

I believe the pink is sweeter so it needs no added sugar. I can't even give them away! I have already cut one down, but still have two. I don't feed or water them anymore, but they still produce a good crop.
