    Default Coca Cola Subverts Science

    Alliance For Natural health
    August 11 2015

Crony science is on full display in the new partnership between the giant beverage company and a nonprofit looking to exonerate junk food in the obesity debate.
The New York Times reports that Coca-Cola is pouring millions of dollars into a nonprofit organization that is trying to promote a peculiar solution to the obesity crisis. The message of the newly formed Global Energy Balance Network (GEBN) is simple: Americans are too focused on how much they eat and are neglecting proper exercise.

And speaking of Coca Cola, I had heard from other forum members that soda pop in Mexico uses regular sugar instead of HFCS, the lesser of two evils.

Well yesterday, I was shopping at Wally and happened to notice the Mexican imported soda pop shelf with all their brands, and showing the best I could interpret, that they used regular sugar and not HFCS, on the Spanish written ingredients list. And that included their Mexican bottling licensed version of Coca Cola for a "mere" $1.18 for a 355ml (12 oz) bottle. Funny how that comes full circle.

Yes, WM has been carry Mexican Coke for quite a while, sweetened with cane sugar. What we don't know is whether it was treated with glyphosate prior to harvest. Any way you slice it, it's not a healthful beverage. I buy the 2-litre size to clean my toilets.

Is Coca Cola acceptable for your septic tank? I always am concerned with how little I know about the care and feeding of the septic tank.

Maurya, that never occurred to me. But I use so little, so rarely, that it doesn't seem as though it should be a concern. But maybe now that you mention it,I'll go back to vinegar.
