When we go to bed my wife is asleep in milliseconds. I'm still awake two, three hours later, the computer that is my brain just refuses to shut down. When I finally do go to sleep any little noise will wake me up. I discovered 5-HTP with melatonin. If I really really need to sleep I'll take these two supplements. It still takes me hours to shut down; but I stay asleep all night.

I like the flavor and aroma of coffee, but I always thought the main idea was to get your metabolism jumpstarted in the morning. A little weed doesn't hurt for the winding down later in the day

That's my take on coffee, I drink it mostly to wake me up and get me going though I also like the flavor and smell. Same as the reverse, beer and the reason for drinking it - I like the low level mellow buzz to help unwind. Decaf coffee is like alcohol-free beer, tasteless and useless but if caffeine doesn't agree with you I can understand..

Oh, and I can only drink real coffee in the morning, if I have any after lunch I won't be able to go to sleep.

    Stephen, care to translate?

mitakuye oyasin na akita mani yo!

    I'm very interested in languages.

And yes my wife is the same way she'll be snoring within a minute, I don't mind because that's what love and acceptance is and it's actually very comforting and soothing to hear never mind snuggle satisfaction.

Ora and Islander, I have never felt any kind of a 'buzz' after drinking coffee. The reason I drink it is the flavour - I really like it, so decaffeinated is not a problem for me. I must have been lucky to find a good one, as I made some for a friend a while ago, who said it was the best decaf he had ever had. He said they were usually tasteless, but this one is full of flavour. It's South American Arabica.

Ora Moose...They are my two favorite Lakhota phrases. "Mitakuye oyasin" means we are all related. "Akita mani yo!" means observe while walking. or in a deeper meaning "never stop learning as long as you live". The "na" just means "and". As far as drinking decaffeinated coffee, isn't that like taking a shower with a raincoat on? I mean, what's the use?
