Default Monsanto Tribunal Judges Slam Monsanto over Violation of Human Rights

    Sustainable Pulse
    Apr 18 2017

Today the five international judges for the Monsanto Tribunal presented their legal opinion, which include key conclusions, both on the conduct of Monsanto and on the need for important changes to international laws governing multinational corporations.
The judges conclude that Monsanto has engaged in practices that have impinged on the basic human right to a healthy environment, the right to food and the right to health. Additionally, Monsanto’s conduct has a negative impact on the right of scientists to freely conduct indispensable research.

I hope this tribunal is a preliminary step in the right direction. So where do we go from here, as the tribunal isn't that much of a trial, ............................................https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kydVLIsjeD4

No, Grulla, never intended as a trial but more like a top-tier hearing to establish a basis of facts that can in future launch an international legal structure with criminal outcomes. Did you read the attached documents? They lay it out in summary form and recommend further action at the U.N. level.

"Did you read the attached documents?" I sure did, but still want to make a clear point that big corporations like Monsanto tend to get away with a lot, with just a slap on the wrist.

This is true, no question. If the findings of this tribunal lead to EU or international legislation per the U.N., they may find it not so easy buying off the condemnation of much of the developed world.

On the other hand, nothing may change. I tend to be an optimist. That's how I get through one day after another.

A small step in the right direction. I would like to think this would discourage Bayer from its merger.....but it's hard to walk away from billions!
