Default Regular Mouthwash Use Linked to Prediabetes and Diabetes

When you consider factors linked to diabetes you may think of a poor diet, lack of exercise or being overweight, all of which are linked to type 2 diabetes. You probably don’t think of regular mouthwash use. You may even scoff at such a notion. Yet, research now links regular mouthwash use to an increased risk of diabetes. New research published in the medical journal Nitric Oxide found that regular mouthwash use destroys beneficial bacteria in the mouth that are needed for our health, which may increase our diabetes risk. https://www.care2.com/greenliving/re...-diabetes.html

This reminds me of the raw milk quandary, pasteurization kills all bacteria good and bad so you might as well drink purified water. Remember that when you use deodorant, soap, toothpaste, mouthwash and all the other industrialized "health aids." I don't remember many people having diabetes when I was a kid, but that was in the days before granulated sugar. I do remember chewing on a sugar cane, man that was super sweet.

Also, remember that people were not fat or obese just a few generations back, on the contrary there was famine and extreme skininess. Nobody ever heard of mouthwash, deodorant, toothpaste etc. and eating fat was not something you curbed it was something you craved.

Never saw the point of mouthwash, always thought it was a waste of money better spent elsewhere. So I'm pleased to read this!
