Default Influenza and pneumonia deaths, United States, 2008–2015 (from the CDC)

These figures are hard to find — well buried on the CDC website, which is why I'm sticking it here. I'm posting one set of stats but there are others. The number of deaths actually attributed to the flu may surprise you.

While no deaths at all would be a good number, I am underwhelmed by the number of flu deaths.

I thought there would have been more flu deaths than reported. But, I was struck by the increase in flu deaths, jumping from a little over 4,000 between 2013 - 2014 to almost 8,000 between 2014 - 2015. Don't recall 2015 being an exceptionally bad flu season.

Just meant that the reported numbers for deaths from the flu are way out of proportion to the mass hysteria that has been promoted among people. IMHO the extreme reaction to this small number of "flu deaths" totally is for the purpose of selling more and more of the "vaccinations" for flu. If these numbers of deaths had been reported for some other illness, for which no "vaccination" had been produced, the general public would not even been made aware of it; it would have warranted no more than a hiccup of reaction.

@Mr. Wiz: I don't think I've ever paid much attention from one year to another; I only know that some years are exceptionally bad, like the current one in which the vaccine is only said to be 10% effective.

@Maurya: that was my reaction too. I just wasn't sure how to interpret your response. Typically the figures reported to the public include both the flu and pneumonia in one big number. Marketing.
