    Default Rosehips Melt Bellyfat Naturally

Rosehips are the fruit of the rose plant. They've been used medicinally for thousands of years. New research shows they may help in the battle against obesity.

Rosehips have been used medicinally for thousands of years, and have been studied to have value in a range of health conditions. Human research now suggests this fruit from wild rose blossoms may be an effective treatment for the modern epidemic of obesity.[i]

Earlier animal studies demonstrated that rosehip extract inhibits weight gain and decreases visceral fat. But it wasn't clear whether it could also help people.
Japanese researchers decided to find out. They conducted a 12-week, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study of 32 people with a body mass index (BMI) of more than 25 but less than 30. A BMI in that range is considered overweight but not obese.

A couple of years ago I read that rosehips could reduce bellyfat and aid weight loss. So, I purchased some vitamin C with rosehips (as a bioflavanoid). In a word....success!! Worked great in helping to trim my waist, but I didn't notice much weight loss. My daughter and a friend also noticed a slimming of their waistline while using vit. C w/rosehips. Because I think the stuff works, I'll never be without my vit. C w/rosehips.

Hmmm, interesting. I already take 2 forms of vitamin C, but who wouldn't want to take an inch or two off their waist? And I, for one, would welcome relief from back pain. I may try a straight rose hips supplement for a while, see what happens. When they ripen, I do collect them, mostly for tea.

Do supplements containing rosehips really work? If they’re rich in vitamin C and have anti-inflammatory as well as anti-oxidant properties, can they be used for diabetes? I’ve lost some weight simply by drinking warm lemon water twice daily. Looking for something that can help me lose abdominal fat.

[Disclaimer: I have been at a healthy weight for the last 11 years, but prior to that, weight control was a constant issue for me].
Ralph McDonald, in my experience, abdominal fat is the very last thing to go. I've also read that routines like cardio, intermittent fasting, jogging, running, all have benefits — but for actually burning belly fat, the only approach shown to work has been weight training.
If you are a Type 2 diabetic, you might be interested to know why my weight stabilized 11 years ago. That was when I was diagnosed with diabetes, put on Metformin, and given a set of dietary guidelines to manage my condition. My A1c at diagnosis was 8.9. That sent me on research for alternative, drug-free management tools, and that was when I discovered that sugars and starchy carbs were at the heart of my illness. Those red flags never appeared on the eating plan the dietician gave me. I deep-sixed her recommendations and began a grain-free, sugar-free diet. No more bread, bagels, pasta, sweet rolls, sticky desserts. Very limited amount of potatoes, rice, other starchy carbs. At the 6-month checkup with my then-doctor, I had made so much progress that she agreed I could d/c the Metformin and proceed on my own. Today my A1c stays at 5.1

This regimen is not as bad as it sounds at first. Because I was motivated, I embraced it enthusiastically. And though I'm actively farming and gardening, that physical activity slows in winter so I make a point of walking — daily if possible. As my condition improved, the weight came off too. Something to keep in mind — hope this helps!

So to answer your original question: if you believe the study results in the article, there are clearly multiple benefits from rose hips. However, there is no silver bullet for reversing diabetes or losing belly fat. Adopting a healthful lifestyle means that slow and steady gets you to your goal.

@RalphMcDonald: Agree wholeheartedly with everything Islander said above. In addition, I've personally used vit. C with rosehips and experienced reduced belly fat. But, as Islander so astutely pointed out, you must change diet and lifestyle to conquer diabetes and weight loss. The vit. C with rosehips is a help, but not a miracle.
