Default Cell Phone Networks Cause Cancer, Major Study Concludes

Radio frequency radiation from cell (mobile) phone networks can cause cancer, a major $30m study has concluded. There is 'clear evidence'—which is the highest level of proof—that exposure to radiation from 2G and 3G networks in particular is carcinogenic.
Researchers from the US's National Toxicology Program didn't test the cancer risks of newer technologies, such as 4G and 5G or wi-fi, and so can't be sure if they have similar risks.

Although the radiation is definitely carcinogenic, people may have to be exposed to very high levels before they developed cancer, the researchers say.

"—that exposure to radiation from 2G and 3G networks in particular is carcinogenic."
I suspect the info in this article is more about discouraging cellphone users from simple, economical, and practical 2G-3G phones in order to further promote the 4G, and now the new controversial 5G networks, while doing away with the prior altogether, and less about carcinogenic EMF safety.

Most all of the new(er) cellular (smart) phones contain the space saving fractal antenna technology, internally printed on a flat circuit board, that radiates into one's hand and face when holding the device. https://www.theoracleslibrary.com/20...sing-fractals/

At least with SOME older cellphones, one MIGHT have the ability to attach an external co-ax antenna in their vehicle or abode. And they also might use either telescoping or "rubber duck" antennas. https://www.wpsantennas.com/

And here is a G3 Home Base cellular phone modem that can be located a safe distance from the reused landline dial phone instrument via the existing unused household telephone wiring. I even have mine connected to an outdoor antenna with co-ax antenna cabling. https://www.consumercellular.com/blo...-base-is-back/

Should we go back to the old style??

It all depends, some people who are hearing impaired rely on texting, and hold the cellphone instrument in their hand instead of the ear. I do all my computering from the desktop, not from a smartphone. And my traveling G3 cellphone is always turned off unless I am anticipating a phone call or have an emergency. And I don't text.

So much depends on how, and how often, you use your phone. I use my smartphone mostly for business, which is almost exclusively texting, so I'm not holding the phone next to my ear. When I do, it's for a very short conversations — again, mostly business related. The phone goes with me, of course, not only for business (in my handbag) but also in my pocket as I work around the farm and garden. If I am injured, at least I can dial 911. I turn it off at night when it's charging.
A lot of younger people access social media on their phones, and I think they're the ones you see velcroed to their phones 24/7. I see them on planes, on buses, in cars and even walking down the street scrolling through Facebook. I know women who tuck their phone inside their bra. Now that's asking for cancer.

The things you are doing nobody actually does it. People spend their most of the time on cellphones only

I'm suggesting a cellphone option that a lot of people may not be aware of, such as low cost, EMF safe, virtual land line via cellular technology. Perhaps this past HH thread will help explain:

There's no escape. Globally, most providers are shutting off 2G & 3G and moving to 4 & 5, as Grulla mentioned above. Islander has the right idea for using a smartphone.

The Consumer Cellular G3 Home Base virtual "landline" that's currently being promoted (Verizon's version is Home Phone) piggybacks on the existing A.T.&T. or T-Mobile microwave and/or fiberoptic digital longdistance paths, begging the question what will happen to that G3 format, or will it eventually morph into G4/G5 as well???

PS: Here is a 4G compliant Home Phone T2000 modem
    https://thewirelesscenter.com/produc...t2000/#respond
which replaces the previous #F256VW 3G Home Phone modem.

Both have the same SMA coaxial connector fitting, where the rubber duck antenna can be replaced with an outdoor, co-ax connected antenna. Or the rubber duck modem can simply be placed in another room in an EMF free area near a window for good RF cellular reception, and a safe distance from the landline telephone instrument, which is connected to the modem via new or existing indoor telephone wire and modular connectors attached to the bottom wall trim. I would anticipate that the new 5G equipment for both Home Phone and high speed internet would be much similar and EMF safe if installed correctly. https://www.wpsantennas.com/

Some areas have no option for a land line phone, such as the area where I live. A cell phone is necessary to live in society. I do prefer texting, and do use a bluetooth for voice calling, as I dislike getting the face of the phone stuck to my face. We collectively had better figure this one out prior to a possible huge explosion in the face of the entire population. I do not have answers.
