Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition affecting millions of people worldwide. Thanks to a recent study, turmeric, a spice prized by sufferers of chronic joint aches and pains, may become the go-to natural way to treat this irritating skin condition without risks posed by conventional psoriasis drugs

In a cooperative study performed by researchers at the Clinical Pharmacy Department at Azad University in Tehran, the Skin and Stem Cell Research Center in Tehran, and Kassir Dermatology in Dallas, Texas, turmeric, the golden-orange spice known worldwide for powerful anti-inflammatory properties, was found to be an effective treatment for psoriasis, a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that has no known cure.

Interesting. It sure would have been helpful if they gave us a tonic recipe.

Lately, I have heard from many friends about the successful result of taking turmeric inside. They brew turmeric just like tea.

You might also want to look up the recipe for "golden milk," a concoction made with turmeric, milk and a few additional ingredients. The finished product is a thick cream or paste that you stir into hot water to make a pleasing, healing tea.

Having had, what I perceived to be, psoriasis at the very top of my nose, in between and into my eyebrows, I finally found out, after trying many topical skin remedies, that zinc oxide ointment, applied from time to time, has nearly eradicated the problem of the scaling, reddish skin. Zinc is an important substance in biological skin composition. https://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-skin-zinc.htm

My mother used to use zinc oxide on our noses and shoulders as a sunblock (I burned very easily). I think she also used it on my heat rash in certain areas. Some people use it on babies' bottoms.

My husband's late father-in-law sunbathed regularly for psoriasis on his skin. He swore by it.

Thanks for the tip. I did a quick research and discovered that zinc oxide is both anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. This explains why it works so well on skin problems. I'll give this a try the next time I have any skin flareups.
