Default Cell Tower Blamed For Sudden Rise In Cancer Cases At School

    March 29 2019

Parents are blaming a cell tower for a sudden rise in cancer cases among students and teachers at an elementary school and are calling to have it removed. Four students and three teachers at a school in Ripon, San Joaquin, California have developed cancer in the past four years—and parents are convinced that the tower, which was installed on the school grounds a few years ago, is responsible.

District authorities are refusing to remove the tower and say it meets the safety requirements of federal regulations. The district receives $2,000 a month from Sprint, the tower's operator, and parents fear the authority's position has been influenced by the payment.

Knowing how inadequate is the support for education across the U.S., I'd say money is a powerful motivator and the tower is likely to stay. Suck it up, kiddies.

Some form of grounded, internal building shielding mesh, (as in a Faraday cage) against the radio frequency (RF) EMFs might be a possibility for that school???

Happy to see parents put school board on notice that they will withdraw their children from the school unless the tower is removed. If parents can get medical authorities to certify the four kids' cancers are associated with radiation from the tower, they may have a legal case. So far, I don't think the docs have indicated direct cause/effect relationship. And, that's the problem, although there are studies showing children are more vulnerable to radiation than adults.

grulla, that would probably cost more money than the school gets. Better idea would be to shield the tower itself, then everyone would benefit. One day, if it is ever proved that these towers cause cancer (if!) they all may have to be shielded.

"Better idea would be to shield the tower itself..." I know what you are trying to say, but the tower can not be "shielded" or the cell phone, and any other RF signal could not get in and out of the tower. The way the various antennas are aimed and oriented might need adjustment. Perhaps the cellular antenna "down angle" may be too much and therefore "raining" excess RF EMFs on the school.
The cost of shielding around the school building might not be that bad, as perhaps only the one geographical facet, which faces the radio tower, may require the shielding??? An electronic survey of the RF EMF adiation situation is needed. Either that, or the tower or the school must be relocated.

There is a special shielding mesh that could be installed on the school's rooftop, and a shielding paint that would decrease penetration through school walls. The tower is not located for the benefit of the school, as best I can tell from this short read. So, shielding the rooftop and walls of the school seems to be the most cost-effective action, given the tower is probably there to stay.

And Mr. Wiz, that right there is probably the most logical and cost-effective solution.

Aluminum fly screen and galvanized ratwire fabric come to mind. Here is an example of RF EMF shielding fabric:

Grulla, what did you see that I missed? I saw nothing positive there, only a compendium of potential damage to health and the environment. No petition to sign, no assurance of protection, not even the advisory that risk assessment has never been done. The only bright spot I found was in one member's comment: an encouraging web site, https://takebackyourpower.net/5g-the...rting-to-fall/, reflecting increased public resistance to 5G. Not all that encouraging either.

One bright spot for you and me: because of our rural location, we may be the last ones in the country to get connected... if we ever do. Fine by me!

Ah, yes, I see. I was looking for something broader, something that would have deterred the inevitable rollout.
