Default Here's what it might be like to travel on a stand-up airplane seat

    Updated 3rd April 2019

I'm testing out the newest version of Italian seat manufacturer Aviointeriors' infamous "standing seats," currently on display at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2019 (AIX) in Hamburg, Germany.
Last year, at the same conference, Aviointeriors made headlines with its Skyrider 2.0. Now it's back, with version 3.0, ready to rock the world of aviation once again.
    Ready for takeoff?
First things first: Gaetano Perugini, engineering adviser at Aviointeriors, is keen to stress that the concept's not about creating "cattle class" and cramming in as many passengers in as possible.

I wanted to enter this news article in the "Other Health Concerns" forum, but decided the idea of standing airline passengers, (strap hangers), was a big joke...maybe April Fools??? It would be even more funny if it didn't have potential health concerns...like being packed in the plane like sardines. One could get a better ride at the county fair.

Some cultures have funeral wakes in the upright position,

I'll bet dollars to donuts, that if I did a further on-line search, I could find a cemetery in an overpopulated area where the bodies are buried vertically.

Some ancient societies buried their "warriors" vertically. Don't remember why.

And here is what inspired Italian seat manufacturer Aviointeriors to design those standup "seats". I guess everyone has their flu shots,.

Well, let's remember a couple of things:
1, those were Terracotta Warriors, not actual human bodies, and,
2, it hurts my heart to think of the millions of tax dollars to train, outfit and transport those young men, many of whom will not be making a round trip.
➤ Happiness is the frosting on the cake of contentment.

"Islander", The humor and ridicule is being pointed at Aviointeriors, NOT the army.
