This is a great discovery. What makes this veggie extract effective is sulforaphane. The end of the article mentions broccoli sprouts as a source of sulforaphane. Go easy with brocco sprouts because the sulforaphane in the sprouts is estimated to be 25 times more potent than plain old broccoli. Sulforaphane works by boosting the immune system. So, too much at one time can over-hype the system, and create a different set of problems.

Any of the brassicas are high in sulforaphane (as compared to other vegetable families).

Lightly steamed or even raw brassica veggies is the best way to ensure you get maximum sulforaphane. But, many people boil or cook brassicas at high temperatures, which results in significant loss of sulforaphane.
