    The 2019 WHO Global Report on Traditional and Complementary Medicine has pointed out that, “Given the unique health challenges of the 21st century, interest in T&CM is undergoing a revival”.
    The presence, legal regulations, and inclusion in statutory health insurances of homeopathy vary from country to country.
    In India, the AYUSH ministry estimates that ten per cent of the population solely depends on homeopathy, offered by about 250,000 practitioners. In Switzerland in 2017, homeopathy has been reincluded indefinitely into statutory health insurance, as has been the case partly or fully in Brazil, Chile, Denmark and other countries

    I wonder what has prompted this return to a remedy that was for years dismissed as laughable.

    In many cases, desperation. People tried everything else and were dissatisfied, so they turned to homeopathy as a last resort and found it worked for them. Same reason people turn to old-fashioned alternative remedies I guess.
