    June 30, 2019

A Florida woman died after getting a flesh-eating bacteria from an innocent-seeming cut on her leg at the beach, according to her family.

Lynn Fleming was not initially concerned about the wound she got two weeks ago after falling into a small dip in the water at Coquina Beach.
“She fell into it, came out with a little three-quarter-inch cut; a bump on her leg,” her son Wade, who was with her, told Fox13.
“It was just a small cut, didn’t think much of it. We got the swelling down, but it just kept bleeding,” he said.

This just now appeared in my morning (7-11-19) email:
    https://www.ecowatch.com/flesh-eatin...639149603.html
I have read quite a few horror stories about kids and adults swimming in lakes, ponds, etc. with open wounds and cuts resulting in comas, amputations, and death. Now it is happening in the vast ocean. where one might think that the salty brine could have a healing effect. Go figure???

I'm willing to bet that the dangers from tick bites outnumber those from flesh-eating bacteria. Lyme, Borrelia etc. may not kill you, but they make you so sick, you'll wish you were dead.

"I'm willing to bet that the dangers from tick bites outnumber those from flesh-eating bacteria." The less incidences of flesh eating means less awareness to the unsuspecting. They both, as well as open cut exposure on many levels, need informed publicity.
