All comms are down in St. Croix, possibly all across the island. It may be awhile before we get word from our member in the USVI.

Praying for all who may be caught in Dorian's path. Looks like PR dodged a bullet.

Thanks for your concern. Dorian was far from another IrMaria, but in our area it was not the big nothing that we had been led to expect. The eye went right over my house, just as it was picking up speed from Tropical Storm status to Hurricane status. As I had defied the complacent naysayers and had put up some, but not all, of the storm shutters, the house did not take on very much water. Lost a few more trees in the yard, and some more paint off the exterior walls, but not too much damage. We only lost electrical power for a day, which is quite the record! My favorite public radio station still is off the air, but we now have internet and phone service. Looks like Florida might be hit with a much stronger version of Dorian. Another storm is working its way across the Atlantic from Africa toward us now.

So glad to hear that you made it through with relatively little damage, Maurya. Fingers crossed that you stay safe through this cycle of violent weather.

That's good news Maurya, I hope the next one passes you by. It's great that you still have the internet.

I'm happy to hear you're okay, Maurya, and hope the new storm dissipates before reaching land.
