    And today I just returned from donating blood to Red Cross at the VFW Lodge in nearby Thatcher, AZ, and was able to find their medication deferral list, which in turn helped me find the similar Vitalant (UBS/UBD) medication deferral list:

    grulla, thanks for sharing the Mercola articles. I read the one on "benefits of donating blood." Interesting to learn that for each unit of blood donated one loses about a half of gram of iron, avoiding iron overload. But, one benefit mentioned seemed a bit odd to me. It said: "People who donate for altruistic reasons, live longer than those who donate for more self-centered reasons." Really? Takes quite an extrapolation to reach such a conclusion, IMHO.
