Default Pregnancy and Humans in Space

No matter where they live, many people eventually end up having kids, even in some of the most out-of-the-way spots on the planet. But, will they be ableto live and work in space and have children? Or on the Moon? Or on Mars? Humans being humans, they will very likely try. Whether they succeed or not depends on a lot of factors.
As humans prepare for a future off Earth, mission planners are finding answers to a number of questions about long-term space residency. One of the most perplexing is "Can women get pregnant in space?" It's a fair one to ask since the future of humans in space depends on our ability to reproduce out there.

Being an astronaut has to currently and potentially be one of the most unhealthy jobs/careers/professions that there is, (not to mention the dangers), depending of course, as to one's time in space, such as a 6+ month tenure in a space station satellite. Some of the physical and medical problems an Earthling astronaut must encounter in a space station are poor quality, manufactured (GMA) packaged food, muscle atrophy from lack of gravity and what little exercise they do, lack of proper sunlight and Vit D, questionable clean and fresh air and water, etc.

Having said all that, if a baby was born in that environment, and especially existing there for an extended period of time during it's formative years, that's not healthy for a baby. Tang anyone? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tang_(drink_mix)

Given our surviving years as climate change accelerates, I consider any of the above to be a waste of time and money. We simply have nowhere near the time required to develop whatever measures would enable us to survive in an exoplanet environment.

UH OH, this just now appeared on today's news, I guess perhaps early testing preparations may be in progress. https://www.npr.org/2019/10/18/77122...male-spacewalk

I thought your new story would have something to do with women in space and pregnancy, but no, it's just a routine fix and by no means the first that has been done by women. I guess I'm missing your point.

BTW, we Mainers are very proud of Jessica!
