Typically, doctors advise people with type 2 diabetes to eat about six times a day. But this approach can lead to a vicious cycle in which individuals require more intensive treatments. Could a different approach to diet be more suitable?

Seriously, bread and sweets for breakfast? Six meals a day? The amount of bad advice coming from so-called experts is overwhelming and misleading.
One more time: type two diabetes can best be managed with a diet consisting primarily of high fat, modest protein and low carbs, avoiding starchy carbs; limit foods like potatoes, rice, winter squash, grains in all their manifestations (like bread, rolls, bagels, pasta etc.) and sweet root vegetables to once a week or less. Common sense would also tell you to limit super-sweet fruits like grapes and dates, as well as honey and maple syrup, and eliminate sugar altogether. Type two diabetes is a lifestyle disease and can be reversed with lifestyle changes as simple as diet and exercise.

Your diet makes much more sense than eating 6 meals a day. How can blood sugar ever stabilize if food is constantly consumed all day long. In contrast to the 6 meal plan, there are number of studies showing that going without food for 8 to 12 hours (intermittent fasting) can be beneficial for controlling blood sugar and lowering the A1c levels, which is a measurement of the blood sugar level for a period of several months.

Yup, that too. I fast from about 6 in the evening to noon or 1 p.m. the following day.

A small study showed that 3 men were able to reverse their type 2 diabetes via intermittent fasting. One man had been on insulin for 25 yrs. and was able to come off insulin after just several weeks of fasting. Read more here:
